Strange Brew Tavern
We were there for an anniversary party on Saturday June 3, 2017 late afternoon. They have a nice room downstairs. The food they served buffet style was wonderful, the bartender made excellent drinks and was friendly and patient. Great place.
Horrible place!!! The food is bar fare but way overpriced and takes forever. That is if you can EVER find a server to take your order. Sometimes the food is cold and the plate is burning hot. The place is dirty, old, outdated. The music is so loud and not for anyone younger than say 50. I've come here a few times now and I wanted to find something to like but never. I cannot actually believe it has 4 stars. Must be friends of the business. Don't waste your time.
Its ok, lots of beers some of them should just not be offered (not every micro brew is good) $5 burger on Wednesday, it used to include the house special burger. Not Anymore.. bartender let's you sit with an empty glass way to long. Then comes around when it is tip time. Place smelled like a frat house with years of beer buildup on the floor but hey the patio/alley is at least .. ...... outside
This place used to be fantastic. Last two times I was there, it was either closed at lunch time, or so crowded that we stood at an empty hostess station for 15 minutes before being told we would have to wait another 20 for a table. When we were finally seated, it took forever for our waitress to acknowledge us, even longer for drinks and apps to come out. When they did... Ugh. Wife's martini was terribly made (tasted like bug spray), and the "home made" chips were stale. Places get busy - I get it - but that can be off set by competent management and kitchen staff. The waitress was doing the best she could, but simply did not have the support of a well run establishment behind her.
Awesome beer selection. Food is decent, but you're not going there for the food. Some of the most interesting brews you're likely to find anywhere.
