Bob’s Broiled Chicken, Portsmouth, NH

For the best chicken vegetable soup around, visit Bob’s Broiled Chicken in Portsmouth. Ask Joe what else is available for soup, but count on it having chicken in it. Do not miss out on the chicken corn chowder or the chicken vegetable soup. Loaded with chicken, it’s also filled with greens, mushrooms, corn, carrots, and more. Served with their delicious homemade corn bread, it makes for a filling meal.

Kim Lai, Portsmouth, NH

For absolutely delicious wonton soup, as well as nine additional hot soups, visit Kim Lai. The wonton soup here is flavorful and hearty, with ample wontons to fill you up. Think twice about how much fried rice and lo mein you order if you’re planning on having the wonton soup first. At the very least, plan on taking a hefty portion of your meal home.

Lilac City Grille, Rochester, NH

The baked onion soup is a specialty at Lilac City Grille, and some diners come for just that for lunch or dinner. Hearty and robust, loaded with onions, a giant homemade crouton and plenty of melted cheese, it’s baked in the oven until the edges of the cheese are crisp. It’s flavorful and filling. Their corn chowder is delicious, too!

Fury’s Publick House, Dover, NH

The most incredible cheesy tomato basil soup is on the menu every day at Fury’s Publick House. It’s clearly a customer favorite—and how could it not be? It’s rich and creamy with melted cheese and just the right amount of basil to give it a unique flavor. There’s a second soup on the menu each day as well, but it changes up daily. Be sure to ask your server what the soup of the day is—and rest assured it will be equally as delicious as the cheesy tomato basil.
