Monadnock Regional High School serves the 9th through 12th grade students living in the eight towns of the Monadnock Regional School District, a member of SAU #38. These southwestern New Hampshire communities are Fitzwilliam, Gilsum, Richmond, Roxbury, Sullivan, Surry, Troy and the Swanzeys. Monadnock was established in 1962 when the district was founded, and named after the local landmark, Mount Monadnock. The school, which shares facilities with Monadnock Regional Middle School, is located on Old Homestead Highway in Swanzey Center, five miles from Keene, New Hampshire. It is a comprehensive high school accredited by the State Department of Education and the New England Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Enrollment (grades 9-12) is approximately 900 students.

Monadnock Regional High School strives to engage all students in a quality education that enables them to develop and meet their individual goals and prepares them to lead satisfying, productive lives as global citizens.

The mission will be satisfied by meeting the following academic, civic, and social learning expectations.

Academic Expectations

Students will demonstrate effective skills in the following areas:

1. Communication, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, and viewing

5. Use of technology

Civic Expectations

Members of the school community will demonstrate civic responsibility by -

1. Participating in service learning projects and service-related clubs and organizations
2. Demonstrating respect for others, the facility, and the learning process
3. Recognizing the achievements of students and faculty
4. Maximizing resources and using them wisely
5. Strengthening connections to families and community members
6. Being informed, responsible citizens, engaged in the democratic process in the school and community

Social Expectations

Members of the school community will demonstrate social responsibility by -

1. Participating in co- and extracurricular activities
2. Developing habits which promote a healthy mind and a healthy body
3. Recognizing and accepting the differences among people
