Portsmouth Police Department Remembers City Icon

While usually posting incredibly humorous blurbs on their Facebook page, the Portsmouth Police Department took a moment in the past few days to honor a city icon. Rev. Dr. Arthur Hilson wasn’t just a local pastor, he was also a teacher for countless years at Portsmouth High School, as well as a former member of the city’s Police Commission. Sadly, he passed away in recent days of cancer at the age of 82. Known for answering the common question, “How are you?” with, “I’m blessed,” or “I’m too blessed to complain,” Art Hilson will be sorely missed in this seacoast city.

GA-20 Live at Portsmouth Book & Bar

Portsmouth Book & Bar is a cool and cozy space that’s great for grabbing lunch, dinner, a refreshing coffee, or a cold glass of beer. Their events calendar is always loaded up with plenty of exciting entertainment and this Saturday, January 26, at 9 p.m. they will be hosting GA-20. This bluesy duo is a must-see.
