Based on the film by Stephen Daldry and adapted for the stage by Elton John and Lee Hall, Billy Elliot is the story of a boy in a northern English coal mining town where a miners strike is just beginning. Billy is an unusual child in his family – quiet, failing in his boxing classes, disappointing to his traditional coal mining family. That is until he stumbles into a ballet class and finds a passion he didn’t know he had, a passion that will unite his community and change his life forever.
With rousing music, an uplifting story, direction and choreography by Rachel Bertone, and a cast of some of the best performers from New England and beyond, Billy Elliot is sure to delight and inspire audiences.
