History: The location of the Dog Park was recommended in the City's Recreation Master Plan in 2009. Recreation Director Gary Bannon and Planning Director Chris Parker then worked with residents and dog owners in the fall of 2009 to design the park. Construction of the park was funded by the Recreation Improvements Fund, where $12,000 in contributions from developers had been set aside for upgrades to City parks on the north end of the City.
